This is to ensure that learning competencies are still met despite the cancellation of the in-person setup.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s (Pagasa) data showed the country’s highest heat indices and the areas where they are expected to prevail:

  • Sangley Point, Cavite City — 44°C
  • Dagupan City, Pangasinan – 43°C
  • Tayabas, Quezon 42°C
  • Roxas City, Capiz – 42°C

In Metro Manila, a heat index of 38°C to 40°C is predicted by Pagasa.

A heat index of over 42°C falls under the “dangerous” threshold, where heat stroke is “probable” with continued sun exposure.
