14 flights canceled at Naia

MANILA, Philippines—At the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 3, bad weather brought by the monsoon, which was enhanced by Tropical Storm “Helen,” led to the cancellation of 14 arrival and departure flights on Tuesday.
The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), state operator of Naia, called on travelers to check with their airlines for cancellations and delays.
The MIAA’s flight-related advisories are also posted on its Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Canceled between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. were eight Air Philippines Express and four Cebu Pacific flights to and from the Godofredo P. Ramos Airport in Caticlan, Aklan province, according to the MIAA.
The Caticlan airport is the gateway to the island resort of Boracay.
Article continues after this advertisementCebu Pacific also canceled an 11:25 a.m. flight to Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, and its return trip, which was set to arrive at Naia at around 2 p.m. Cagayan is among the provinces placed under Storm Signal No. 2 due to Helen’s approach.
AirPhil also canceled a 9 a.m. flight to Caticlan and its 11:20 a.m. return trip due to “technical problems.”
