NBP strips Rolito Go of minimum security level status
MANILA, Philippines—An official of the New Bilibid Prison on Friday said the level of security of convicted murderer Rolito Go will be increased from minimum to medium or maximum following his alleged kidnapping.
“He will be stripped of his current level of security. His level of security will be increased from minimum to either medium or maximum because of the alleged abduction incident,” NBP Superintendent Richard Schwarskopf told Radyo Inquirer 990.
Go was reported missing Tuesday evening after he failed to appear at the headcount of minimum security inmates. Minimum security is the lowest level of security to which an inmate can be assigned. The inmates in this level are usually those who are about to complete serving their prison terms and are generally considered to pose the least risk to public safety.
Go is scheduled to be released in June, 2013, after completing 20 years of his sentence for killing Eldon Maguan in a road rage case. The police were able to get him back Wednesday evening after his alleged kidnappers released him and his nephew Clarence Yu.
Schwarskopf said there is an ongoing inquiry if he really was abducted or not.

He added that if proven that there was no kidnapping, Go would be facing a separate criminal case and his release next year will be affected.
