Rogue drivers, beware.

The reinvigorated traffic discipline campaign of the Reformed Department of Public Safety and Traffic Management (RDPSTM) in Caloocan City has resulted in the arrest of more than 100 errant erring drivers of public utility vehicles.

In a report, the agency said it arrested 167 PUV drivers last month as part of the city government’s crackdown on traffic rules violators.

Most of them were accosted for setting up illegal terminals in major thoroughfares across the city which obstructed traffic flow.

Echiverri said the number of apprehensions last month should serve as a stern warning for motorists to follow traffic rules or suffer the consequences.

“Motorists should follow traffic rules and regulations to prevent apprehensions and, most of all, avoid accidents in the streets,” he said in a statement.

The RDPSTM is Caloocan’s traffic and public safety enforcement body tasked primarily with ensuring efficient traffic flow throughout the city. It also regulates road-related activities and is tasked with maintaining peace, order and cleanliness in the streets.
