MANILA, Philippines—A man suffering from throat cancer jumped off the fourth floor of the Philippine General Hospital in Manila Monday in an apparent suicide, police said.

Rodelio Callos, 44, of Taguig City, was admitted to the PGH on Saturday for throat cancer. His brother, who was with him Monday morning, went out to buy food. Shortly after, a nurse heard a loud thud and saw Callos on the ground.

The victim was rushed to the emergency room but he did not survive. He suffered head wounds and broken legs.

The body was sent to Harold Funeral Parlor for autopsy.
