An 83-year-old man and her 83-year-old wife were found dead inside their house in sitio Sangi, barangay Guadalupe, Carcar City in southern Cebu last Sunday afternoon.
Neighbors found Renerio Neri and his wife Dolores, in their bedroom with gunshot wounds in their bodies.
Police said they were looking into robbery as the motive of the killing considering that the living room of the victim鈥檚 house was in disarray.
鈥淢ura silag naay gipangita (The perpetrators seem to be looking for something),鈥� said P02 Rosendo Binondo, police investigator of Carcar police.
Rosendo said that the聽 couple was probably killed late Friday evening or early Saturday morning.
Investigation showed that the victims neighbors, Gloria Alfarera, 65, and Ismael Aldebera, 60, checked on the couple鈥檚 house after they didn鈥檛 see them come out of the house last Sunday.
The neighbors found it odd that the couple鈥檚 house remained closed with the lights inside switched on.
At about 4 p.m., the neighbors checked the house and found their bodies. They reported the incident to barangay tanods who informed the police.
Police recovered three empty shells and a 9 mm slug聽 from the聽 crime scene.
The neighbors told police that the couple, who had no children, owned nine passenger jeepneys.
They said a niece was helping them financially.
