Number of stranded passengers in Luzon seaports rise to 1,600

MANILA, Philippines—The number of passengers stranded at several seaports in the country rose to 1,600 on Wednesday, a spokesman from the Philippine Coast Guard said.

Lieutenant Commander Algier Ricafrente said that the earlier reported 1,155 passengers stranded because of tropical storm Juaning had risen to 1,600.

He also said that 180 rolling cargoes, 14 shipping vessels, and 15 motorized boats were also stranded at different seaports.

Ricafrente said that most of the passengers and vessels were stranded in Tabaco and Pio Duran (both in Albay), Batangas, Calapan, Romblon and Lucena City.—Karen Boncocan, 黑料社
