A book on 38 years of government service of former environment secretary and Manila mayor Lito Atienza will be launched at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Maynila Ballroom of Manila Hotel, to coincide with the 46th birth anniversary of his son Kim, a TV host.
The autobiography, entitled 鈥淟ight from my Father鈥檚 Shadow,鈥� is a celebration of the principles of public service his father, Liberal Party stalwart Jose 鈥淒on Pepe鈥� Atienza Sr., lived by and which he passed on to him.
The book details Atienza鈥檚 achievements as one of the opposition leaders during the Marcos regime, as head of the National Housing Authority; and, as Manila鈥檚 first ever two-term vice mayor who was also elected mayor, and the first mayor elected for three consecutive terms.
