AN anti-narcotics agent was arrested yesterday in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, province where he allegedly tried to sell shabu to an undercover policeman.
A total of P100,000 worth of shabu was later found in his possession.
Intelligence officer Steven Valles, who is assigned in Cebu,聽 was arrested in a buy-bust operation聽 in barangay Poblacion Dos, near the pier area of Tag bilaran.
Valles, a native of Toledo City in Cebu, faces charges of drug pushing in violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, a nonbailable offense,聽 said Senior Supt. Constantino Barot, Bohol provincial police director.
Valles is聽 assigned at the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Visayas office.
Barot said Valles allegedly sold three big packs and a half pack of shabu to a Bohol聽 police intelligence operative.
In a radio interview, Barot said the agent聽 tried to resist and run away but was overpowered by policemen.
He said Valles was under surveillance for two months by Bohol police before the聽 arrest.
While Valles was assigned at the PDEA office in Cebu City, he would聽 attend law school in Bohol on weekends.
PDEA Regional Director聽 Adrian Alvari帽o said Valles had filed for a oneweek leave of absence.
Barot said it may not have been the first time Valles聽 delivered drugs and that he may have contacts in Bohol, where he was previously assigned.
