President Aquino will have a busy day in Cebu today, his third visit to the province this year.
The President is scheduled to arrive in the morning and go straight to Mactan where he will break ground for the construction of the new Mactan Circumferential Road in barangay Ibo.
Aquino and his party will then proceed to Bogo City in north Cebu for the first of three political events meant to push for the candidacy of his local allies led by by Liberal Party gubernatorial candidate Hilario 鈥淛unjun鈥 Davide III and his runningmate Agnes Magpale.
His trips across Cebu province will likely be made by helicopter to catch up with his schedule.鈥
Celestino Martinez III, the LP congressional bet in Cebu鈥檚 4th district, will deliver welcome remarks in the 鈥渃ommunity meeting鈥 in Bogo, where a new City Hall will be inaugurated.
The President will have lunch in Bogo and meet with local leaders in the sports and cultural center in barangay Taytayan.
At 2:30 p.m., the presidential party will go to Toledo City for another 鈥渃ommunity meeting鈥 and cap the day with a grand rally of his Cebu City allies at the front steps of the Provincial Capitol.
Organizers said they expect a crowd of 15,000 in the rally of the Bando Osme帽a-Pundok Kauswagawan led by Cebu City Rep. Tomas Osme帽a, who is running for mayor.
Acting Gov. Magpale, who will deliver welcome remarks in the rally, said the Capitol鈥檚 social hall and old session hall were spruced up for a dinner reception for Aquino. Security will be tight in the Capitol area where roads leading to the venue will be closed from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. today.
Everything is set for today鈥檚 road closures and rerouting, said Raffy Yap, head of the Cebu City Traffic and Operations Management (Citom).
鈥淚 will be manning traffic during the event,鈥 Yap told Cebu Daily 黑料社.
