4 NABBED FOR DRUGS
POLICE arrested four men and seized packs of suspected shabu worth at least P35,000 in a buy-bust operation in barangay Looc, Danao City, northern Cebu.
Roque Casas allegedly sold shabu to a poseur-buyer when he was arrested by operatives of the intelligence branch of the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) on Friday night.
Police said Casas’ alleged cohort, Dennis Avila, eluded arrest.
Police also arrested Archie Gaco, Isidro Casas and Roque Zamora who were allegedly caught sniffing drugs in a suspected drug den, said Senior Insp. Leo Torrejos Logrono.

FARMER HACKED BY COUSIN
A 38-YEAR-OLD farmer was hacked by his cousin in barangay San Jose in Poro town off Camotes Island, Cebu.
Rolando Basarte Damayo, 38, survived the attack but sustained multiple hack wounds in the body.
The victim was brought to the Ricardo Maningo Memorial District Hospital.
The suspect, Jesus Martinez Basarte, 41, was arrested after the incident.
Police said Damayo argued with another cousin Wilfredo Basarte Jr. last Thursday afternoon.
Police said Jesus intervened in the argument until he took a bolo and hacked Damayo.

ARMED MAN ARRESTED
A SHIP CREW member was caught carrying an unlicensed gun in barangay Looc, mandaue City yesteray dawn.
Police said a .38 caliber revolver loaded with six bullets was recovered from the possession of Allan Pineda, a crew member of M/V Alal of Capricorn Shipping docked at Looc wharf.
Police said tanods saw Pineda, a native of Nueva Valencia in Guimaras Island, brandishing a gun while he was walking on Mabini Street.
Pineda was drunk during the incident, police said
The tanods called the police that led to the man’s arrest.
