Two men gunned down in Balamban

Two men were shot dead in separate incidents in barangay Buanoy, Balamban town, southwest Cebu.

Police said the killing of Eugene Ian Acha and Jimmy Badiang could be drug-related.

Police investigation revealed that Acha was standing outside a barber shop when he was repeatedly shot by an unidentified man past 8 p.m. last Friday.

The assailant wore a hard hat and uniform jacket of Tsuneishi Heavy Industries, a shipbuilding company, police said.

Police said Acha, who was believed to be in his 30’s, was a native of barangay Tisa, Cebu City.

SPO1 Jose Villarino, Balamban police investigator, said Acha was allegedly intermittently selling illegal drugs.

Police recovered four empty shells and two deformed slugs for a .45 caliber pistol from the crime scene.

About two hundred meters away, Badiang was fatally shot inside his rented room past 3 a.m. yesterday.

Badiang was found by his boardmate, Onesimo Cudes, with a gunshot wound in the back.

Cudes told police he heard a single gunshot from Badiang’s room.

Cudes checked on Badiang and found him lying face down in a pool of blood.

Villarino said that according to some neighbors, Badiang was involved in selling drugs.

Badiang was a native of Surigao del Norte and worked as a contractor in Tsuneishi.
