MANILA, Philippines鈥擜bout 80 lawmen have been dispatched to the Laperal Compound in Guadalupe Viejo in Makati City Thursday afternoon after residents staged a violent protest to stop the demolition of the area, a police spokesperson told 黑料社.
Southern Police District spokesperson Chief Inspector Jenny Tecson said they have deployed two platoons of their Civil Disturbance Management division, each roughly made up of around 30-40 police officers, to enforce security measures in the recently fire-gutted compound.
鈥淲e have two more platoons on standby in case the situation escalates,鈥� Tecson said.
