Cagayan court scribe fired for 鈥榰nsatisfactory performance鈥�
MANILA, Philippines—A court stenographer lost her job after the Supreme Court approved recommendations that she be taken out of the rolls for unsatisfactory performance.
In a four-page decision dated June 4, the high court approved the dismissal of Joylyn Dupaya, court stenographer III of the Regional Trial Court of Aparri, Cagayan, Branch 10, from service on the recommendation of the Office of the Court Administrator.
Dupaya was fired “for obtaining ‘unsatisfactory’ performance ratings for the periods from January to June 2011 and from July to December 2011.”
The high court also declared Dupaya’s court stenographer position as vacant.
“She is, however, still qualified to receive the benefits she may be entitled to under existing laws, and may still be reemployed in the government,” said the high court resolution signed by Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno.—Christine O. Avendaño
