MANILA, Philippines鈥擯etron Corp. said聽Friday聽it would look into the Philippine Coast Guard鈥檚 findings that the oil firm鈥檚 leaking underwater pipeline caused the massive oil spill off Cavite.
鈥淵esterday, we conducted two pressure hydro tests and cleared the pipeline of the product. We will look into PCG鈥檚 report,鈥 Petron Corp said in its Facebook page.
鈥淢eanwhile, Petron鈥檚 efforts continue to be geared towards monitoring and recovery operations in Rosario and Tanza in Cavite,鈥 it added.
As of聽Friday, Petron said there were minimal traces of sheen in the waters off Rosario and Tanza towns of Cavite.
鈥淒iesel is a non-persistent oil and we expect it to be dispersed soon,鈥 it said.
鈥淲e continue to closely cooperate with local government authorities, PCG, and other concerned groups to resolve this situation immediately,鈥 it added.
