Orange rainfall alert up over Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau issued Orange rainfall advisory as heavy rains were observed in the past three hours.

“Heavy to intense rains is expected over Metro Manila and most likely to continue for the next 3 hours,” the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration issued at 7:15p.m. Sunday.

Flooding is possible in low-lying areas.

The rains were triggered by the prevailing southwest monsoon enhanced by tropical storm “Maring” (international name Trami) off Batanes area.
