MANILA, Philippines 鈥� The blood pressure of a detained suspect in the P10 billon 鈥減ork barrel鈥� scam shot up on her second night at a police camp in Laguna, an official said Tuesday.
Janet Lim-Napoles鈥� blood pressure was at 200/130, said PNP Senior Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac, PNP-Public Information Office chief, in a text avdisory to media.
Sindac said Napoles, who has been in Fort San Sto. Domingo since Sunday, complained of nausea and headache at around 4:43 a.m.
When the nurse on duty checked on Napoles, her blood pressure was at 200/130.
She took her medicine at around 4:53 a.m. as prescribed.
A few minutes later, her blood pressure went down to 140/80, Sindac said.
Earlier in the day at around 1 a.m., Napoles complained of a 鈥渢ingling sensation鈥� on the left part of her face.
On Monday, Napoles鈥� blood pressure also shot up to 180/150 due to a claustrophobic attack.
Claustrophobia is an anxiety disorder in which one suffers from fear of being in a crowded area, fear of having no escape, and being closed-in, among others.
