‘We didn’t say they must advertise in Yellow Pages’

MANILA, Philippines—Internal Revenue Commissioner Kim Henares on Thursday stood by her bid to issue a directive requiring doctors and lawyers to post the rates they will charge their patients and clients despite opposition from these groups.

“Let’s not have a knee-jerk reaction,” Henares said.

She maintained that her soon-to-be-issued directive require them only to post their rates in their offices, at least in their reception areas.

“We did not say post outside the office, or have posters, or advertise in the Yellow Pages,” she told reporters.
