DAVAO CITY, Philippines 鈥� The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) government has placed the region on 鈥渁lert status鈥� following the attack of Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) forces in a number of villages in Zamboanga City on Monday morning.
ARMM Governor Mujiv Hataman, in a press statement, has advised authorities and local government units in the provinces of Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi to heighten security in their respective areas and help guard against the 鈥渕ovement of suspicious groups.鈥�
鈥淲e also condemn in the strongest possible terms this act of violence and the use of some people as human shield while we continue to pray for the safety of civilians in this unfortunate incident,鈥� ARMM Executive Secretary Laisa Masuhud Alamia said in a statement.
