MANILA, Philippines—A low pressure area (LPA) monitored by the weather bureau has left the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) but moderate to heavy rains in some parts of southern Luzon and the Visayas are still to be expected on Tuesday.

A potential weather disturbance spotted over the Pacific Ocean is also anticipated to develop within the PAR on Wednesday.

Forecaster Glaiza Escullar explained that the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) is in effect over Central and southern Luzon as well as the Visayas.

Escullar said Tuesday’s weather in southern Luzon and the Visayas is anticipated to persist until Wednesday, when Pagasa expects a potential LPA to form within the PAR by afternoon.

Based on its weather outlook for Tuesday, Pagasa expects Metro Manila and the rest of the country to remain cloudy with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.—Jeannette I. Andrade
