SWU tossers off to sizzling start

/ 06:36 AM October 19, 2013

The defending champion Southwestern University (SWU) got off to fantastic start in the Cebu leg of the 2013 Shakey’s Girls V-League last Thursday evening as it routed the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) in straight sets at the Aznar Coliseum.

SWU drew upon the momentum it gained from its title win in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) juniors division tournament a few weeks ago to come out on top, 25-13, 25-20, against SHS-AdC.

The Baby Cobras are aiming to claim the crown in this tournament and make it back to the Tournament of Champions, where they hope to atone for the title loss that they suffered at the hands of powerhouse Hope Christian School last season.
