MANILA, Philippines鈥擜 2.4 earthquake hit near Catbalogan City in Samar province at 3:06 p.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
The inland quake struck 32 kilometers southeast of Catbalogan City at a shallow depth of 31 kilometers.
There were no reports of damage or injury.
The Philippines sits on the Pacific 鈥淩ing of Fire鈥� where continental plates collide causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
