MANILA, Philippines鈥擮ne inmate was killed and another was injured in two separate stabbing incidents inside the New Bilibid Prison Monday morning.
NBP Superintendent Fajardo Lansangan, in a phone interview, said the first incident happened at 8:15 a.m. when members of the Batang City Jail were playing volleyball at the GIG basketball court. One of the BCJ members was stabbed by a member of the Sigue Sigue Sputnik group.
The victim was identified as Nolfe Nadiao. He was brought to the NBP Hospital for treatment. Lansangan said they arrested Enrico de Asis, a Sputnik Gang member, who was pointed to as Nadiao鈥檚 attacker.
The second incident occurred at 8:45 a.m. near the Calvary Chapel. The victim was identified as Jorge Alno, a Sputnik Gang member.
鈥淲e still do not know the motive. We will examine if the incident was captured by our CCTV,鈥� Lansangan said
