MANILA, Philippines鈥擜lthough the family members of Jeff Aldrin Cudia are not assailing the Honor Code of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA), they are denouncing the honor committee for allegedly committing abuses in rendering its decision to dismiss the cadet, a report from Inquirer Radio 990AM said Monday.
The report added that Cudia鈥檚 sister, Anavee, claimed that a listening device was found inside the holding area of the cadet inside the PMA.
She also claimed that Cadet Lagura himself admitted to Cudia that he was pressured to change his vote. The original 8-1 vote was reportedly rigged to become a 9-0 unanimous vote against her brother.
Anavee added that their family opted for a one week news blackout to allow the newly created task force of the Armed forces of the Philippines to reinvestigate the case.
Cudia鈥檚 father, Renato, said they do not want their son to join anymore the military. All they want now is Cudia鈥檚 diploma.
However, Renato said that his son has yet to 鈥渕ove on.鈥� Cudia is bothered to learn that his transcript of records states that he was on 鈥渋ndefinite leave.鈥�
A source privy to the controversy, meanwhile, said that Cudia and his family were trying to divert the issue.
The source also said that Cadet Lagura has already submitted his affidavit to the honor committee and categorically denied that he was pressured to change his vote.
The Public Attorney鈥檚 Office (PAO) this Tuesday is set to file a petition for Intervention before the Supreme Court to challenge PMA鈥檚 decision on Cudia鈥檚 dismissal.
