MANILA, Philippines – A 7.1 magnitude earthquake hit off the coast of Papua New Guinea on Friday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The strong quake struck 61 kilometers southwest of Panguna in Papua New Guinea at 7:07 a.m. UTC (Universal Coordinated Time), said in its latest quake bulletin.
The quake hit Papua New Guinea just days after a powerful 8 magnitude quake hit Chile on April 8.
