MANILA, Philippines鈥擜fter four years and over 10 re-appointments, Justice Secretary Leila De Lima was finally recommended for confirmation before the plenary on Wednesday by a panel of the powerful Commission on Appointments (CA).
No member of the CA鈥檚 committee on justice and judicial and bar council objected when a motion to recommend her for confirmation was put on the table.
Even Senator Jose 鈥淛inggoy鈥� Estrada, who grilled the nominee over the 鈥減ork barrel鈥� issue, did not object to the committtee鈥檚 recommendation.
De Lima鈥檚 nomination will now be transmitted to the CA plenary for either approval or rejection.
