Monsoon rains affect Palawan in 鈥楪lenda鈥欌€檚 wake

MANILA, Philippines鈥擨n the midst of the onslaught of Typhoon 鈥淕lenda,鈥� southwest monsoon rains or 鈥淗abagat鈥� is affecting Palawan on Wednesday, the country鈥檚 weather bureau said.

Starting at 1:50 p.m., the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said 鈥渉abagat鈥� has affected Palawan.

Pagasa said moderate to heavy rains persisted within three hours.

In its latest weather bulletin issued 5 p.m., the Pagasa said 鈥楪lenda鈥� was spotted at 160 kilometers west of Zambales at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

The typhoon is moving towards Bajo de Masinloc, Zambales or west northwest at 24 kilometers per hour, Pagasa said.
