PNR train stalls in Manila

MANILA, Philippines–Amid the recent disruptions ‎experienced by train systems in Metro Manila, a Philippine National Railways (PNR) train stalled for about 30 minutes on Monday morning.

The southbound train stopped before reaching the San Andres station in Manila at around 9 a.m.

Paul de Quiros, PNR spokesperson, said in a text message to ºÚÁÏÉç that the train stalled due to “low air pressure.”

“Some passengers transferred to another train while some waited until it resumed the trip,” he said.

De Quiros said that thirty minutes after, ‎the PNR went back t‎o its normal operations.

Last August 13, a wayward Metro Rail Transit (MRT) train skidded and went past through a barrier at Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (Edsa)-Taft Avenue station hurting almost 40 passengers.

Three days later, it was followed up by a 20-minute delay at MRT Buendia station due to technical problems experienced at the Ortigas and Santolan stations.
