MANILA, Philippines鈥擳he National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will summon lawyer Ely Pamatong to answer questions regarding the foiled attempt to sow chaos at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport by setting off an improvised incendiary device.

Pamatong, a would-be Presidential candidate, reportedly has ties with three arrested men early Monday morning at the Naia Terminal 3 and confiscated improvised incendiary devices that were intended to be detonated to express their disgust against the government鈥檚 soft stand against China.

鈥淥f course he will be summoned [because] he admitted knowing those people,鈥 De Lima said.

Arrested were Grandeur Pepito Guerrero, Emmanuel San Pedro and Sonny Yohanon.

鈥淲e want to validate [reports of Pamatong鈥檚 possible involvement]. I think he admitted being the commander-in-chief of the group USAFFE,鈥 De Lima said.

The group who attempted to set off improvised explosives inside the airport said their group is called USAFFE, a name taken from the World War II group United States of the Armed Forces in the Far East.
