Monday classes suspended in Metro Manila, affected provinces

MANILA, Philippines—Due to Typhoon “Luis,” Malacañang announced Sunday night the suspension of Monday classes in all levels in Metro Manila. Earlier several local government units announced similar suspensions in their respective areas.

Deputy Presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said in a radio interview that although classes are suspended, work in the government and private sectors will continue.

Valte said Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa, in the absence of President Aquino, who is in Europe, issued the order to suspend classes in both public and private schools in the National Capital Region, including colleges and universities.
