MANILA, Philippines鈥換uezon City has four new ambassadors led by newly crowned Miss QC Diamond Jubilee Shecill Bagaporo. The 23-year-old Roxas District resident bested 24 other girls to bag the title, which came with a cash prize of P200,000.
Crowd favorite Roanna Ray Addie Jose, 20, was named Miss Business-Friendly (1st runner-up); Renee Soraya Hassani, 22, won the title of Miss Environment (2nd runner-up), while the title of Miss Social Empowerment (3rd runner-up) went to Patrixia Sherly Santos, 22.
鈥淩est assured that I will do my best in fulfilling my responsibilities as Miss Quezon City. I will begin by first focusing my attention on the different charities in the city. It will be my way of giving back. I will also support the different projects of Mayor Herbert Bautista,鈥 Bagaporo told the Inquirer shortly after the pageant held at the AFP Theater in Camp Aguinaldo on Saturday.
She said her victory was unexpected, even to her. 鈥淎ll of us are deserving of the crown. The girls and I worked together for three long months. We鈥檙e all like siblings. It was really an awesome experience for me. I already feel blessed just knowing that I was part of this event.鈥
Topics during the question-and-answer portion of the three-hour program included social services, tourism and the mayor鈥檚 priority projects. Asked what she could contribute to Quezon City, Bagaporo, a nursing graduate, said she would 鈥渉elp government officials make the city a better place to live in.鈥
