MANILA, Philippines 鈥� About 90 families were displaced in a fire that razed a shanty community in Quezon City Tuesday morning.
Superintendent Jesus Fernandez, Quezon City Fire marshal, said in a phone interview with 黑料社 that some 30 houses were gutted in Sitio 鈥嶳uby in Barangay (village) North Fairview around 8 a.m.
Fernandez 鈥巗aid the fire broke out in a home after one of its family members cooked in wood fire.
The fire easily spread through nearby houses, which were made of light materials. 鈥嶪t reached fourth alarm.
The affected families have been evacuated to the barangay hall for temporary shelter.
