MANILA, Philippines鈥揂 39-year-old former sexy actor was caught in possession of illegal drugs after Quezon City policemen flagged him down for driving without a helmet in Cubao, police said Monday.
Laurence Mendres (screen name Anton Bernardo), a resident of New York Mansion on Annapolis Street in Barangay (village) E. Rodriguez, was鈥� found hiding aluminum foil strips and sachets containing shabu (metamphetamine hydrchloride) in a black pen case.
Mendres was flagged down during a checkpoint at the corner of Main Avenue and 7th Avenue in Barangay (village) Socorro early Sunday, according to the report of Superintendent Wilson delos Santos, Cubao Police Station commander鈥�.
Police frisked Mendres and found the black case containing the heat-sealed plastic sachet labeled 鈥淪C/LM1,鈥� three pieces of strip rolled aluminum foil marked as 鈥淪C/LM2,鈥� two pieces of strip rolled aluminum foil used as pipe marked as 鈥淪C/LM3鈥� and 鈥淪C/LM4,鈥� and thin strip aluminum foil with traces of shabu marked as 鈥淪C/LM5.鈥�
Mendres was put under police custody.
Before trying his luck in Japan for two years, Mendres played sexy roles in films including 鈥淧atikim ng Pinya鈥� in 1996 with Rosanna Roces and 鈥淭orotot鈥� in 2008 with Maricar de Mesa.
