MANILA, Philippines—Budget   Secretary  Florencio  Abad shrugged off  the malversation  complaint  filed  against  him by  former  Iloilo Representative  Augusto  Syjuco Jr.

“Kailangan pa bang magcomment dun?” Abad told reporters on Wednesday when sought for comment after he attended a Senate hearing.

“You know, he (Syjuco) files cases left and  right  without studying, so I don’t think we should really  pay attention to that,”   Abad said.

In his complaint, Syjuco said Abad committed  malversation when he appropriated public funds  “without the  authority and  imprimatur of Congress.”

“Hence, malversation was committed by respondent Abad,” said the former lawmaker.
