MANILA, Philippines鈥擣loods won鈥檛 be a problem once the Salamander gets going.
Atoy Llave, the man behind car customization company A-Toy Bodykits, has created the Salamander amphibious tricycle that can traverse through both land and water, an essential in an archipelago.
According to a report from Top Gear, Llave created the innovative vehicle with Lamberto Amad, the technical head of H2O Technologies.
It was Llave鈥檚 desire to do 鈥渟omething really useful for the benefit of his countrymen鈥 and that his wish was 鈥渢o put the Philippines on the global automotive map.鈥
鈥淚 want to show the world that the Filipino can,鈥 Llave said.
Salamander was launched on Thursday evening at the Capitol Commons in Pasig.
Top Gear reported potential consumers could choose from a 5-kilowatt electric engine and a 250-cc internal combustion one as its powerplant.
On land, the Salamander can fit four people including the driver while six can fit in when the vehicle goes to water-travel mode.
Salamander also comes with two aluminum oars and a marine-grade industrial propeller.
Solar power is used for its mobile charging with six USB ports available for devices.
鈥Sana wag nating kalimutan na mag pasalamat sa Diyos na nagbigay ng talino at lakas para mabuo natin ito, (I hope that we won鈥檛 ever forget to thank God who gave us the knowledge and strength to finish this project)鈥 Llave said in his Facebook page.
