MANILA, Philippines—Large areas of Luzon remained flooded as six dams have  been releasing waters since Thursday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC)  said Friday.

Some villages were enduring water nearly two storeys high after Typhoon Pedring (international codename: Nesat) 1 the country, and the government said another typhoon,  Quiel, was expected to dump just as much rain over the same areas this weekend.
