Abdul Basit Usman, a suspected terrorist bomber who had a $1-million prize on his head, was killed by members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in an alleged encounter in Guindulungan town, Maguindanao province.
It was in the MILF鈥檚 best interests to kill Usman who had become a burden to them after the massacre of 44 police commandos.
The $1-million prize from the US government is an added bonus.

Let鈥檚 forgive Celia Veloso, mother of condemned woman Mary Jane Veloso, for her apparent ingratitude to President Noynoy who worked for her daughter鈥檚 reprieve.
Celia said the President didn鈥檛 have a hand in the stay of Mary Jane鈥檚 execution.
The condemned woman鈥檚 mom may just have been repeating what the President鈥檚 detractors were telling her.
It could be that P-Noynoy鈥檚 critics wanted her to thank Vice President Jojo Binay.
Binay implied that he saved Mary Jane by talking to Indonesian officials, but who was put to shame when Indonesian President Joko Widodo said it was P-Noynoy who talked him into giving the condemned woman a reprieve.
