Senator Lito Lapid聽 on Tuesday聽 vowed to support聽 Senator Grace Poe should the latter decide to run聽 either聽 for president or聽 vice president in 2016.
鈥淪yempre Fernando Poe 鈥榶an, ang laki ng utang na loob namin聽 d鈥檡an,鈥澛� Lapid said in a rare interview at the Senate.

Actor聽 Fernando Poe Jr. is the late聽 father of聽 Senator Poe, who has been ranking聽 second in the latest surveys of possible聽 presidential bets in 2016.

鈥淜ahit saan s鈥檡a susuportahan namin s鈥檡a (Whatever path she chooses, we will support her),鈥澛� added Lapid, who鈥檚 term in the Senate will expire聽 in 2016.
But Poe, who is serving her聽 first聽 six-year term聽 in the Senate, has yet to decide whether or not to run for a higher post in the upcoming elections.
Lapid said聽 detained聽 Senator Ramon 鈥淏ong鈥� Revilla Jr.聽 would聽 have been聽 the聽 standard-bearer of Lakas聽 but the聽 latter has聽 been charged with聽 plunder and is currently detained in connection聽 with the 鈥減ork聽 barrel鈥� scam. Revilla is chairman of Lakas.
Also charged and detained聽 in connection with the scam聽 are Senators Juan Ponce Enrile and Jose 鈥淛inggoy鈥� Estrada. IDL
