President Aquino on Thursday received another honorary doctorate degree, this time from the Tarlac State University during conferment rites in Malaca帽ang.
In his acceptance speech, the President expressed gratitude that 鈥渘one other than my fellow Tarlaque帽os recognize what the entire nation has achieved these past four years and eleven months.鈥�
鈥淚 am indeed grateful to Tarlac State University for conferring on me this honorary degree in humanities, which is an incredibly meaningful gesture,鈥� he said.
Aquino cited the value of education and how it could empower Filipinos. He rattled off such government programs as the conditional cash transfer as a means to 鈥渃apacitate our people so that they can take part and contribute to growth.鈥�
He said the administration鈥檚 鈥渁genda of empowerment鈥� also covered the work by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.鈥�Christian V. Esguerra
