Interior Secretary听Manuel 鈥淢ar鈥� Roxas II would be the Liberal Party鈥檚 (LP) bet, Senate President听Franklin Drilon said on Wednesday.
鈥淎ng aming kandidato sa partido pagdating ng panahon ay si Mar Roxas (Mar Roxas will be our party鈥檚 standard-bearer in the future),鈥� Drilon, vice chairman of LP, said in an interview听over DZRH.
鈥淢ar Roxas can stand on his record as a good leader,鈥澨齢e added.
Drilon made this categorical statement a day after听Roxas expressed readiness to continue the Aquino administration鈥檚听鈥渟traight path.鈥�

Roxas听though has yet to announce whether or not听he would听run for president in 2016. In 2010, he ran but lost to听Vice President听Jejomar听Binay,听who has declared his presidential bid听for next year.

Drilon听reiterated听that听the country鈥檚 next leader should have听integrity, meaning听he or she should听have no record听or allegation of corruption.
