MANILA, Philippines – Rescuers on Monday recovered the body of a man who drowned while trying to bring relief goods to his stranded relatives in flood-hit Calumpit town in Bulacan, a 990AM report said.

The report identified the fatality as Fred Tolentino, 34, who died after the boat he rode back to his home in Barangay (village) Sta. Lucia overturned in floodwaters.

His five-year-old niece was also killed in the accident. The girl’s body was recovered Sunday night, the report said.
