WATCH: Iglesia video shows de Lima as ‘demon in disguise’

AFTER ruling cyberspace for trending on Twitter, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima has been portrayed in a video as a “devil in disguise.”

In a video which was shown to members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo gathered at Edsa-Shaw intersection, de Lima was depicted as “a demon, a devil in disguise” in a parody video of a Neil Sedaka’s hit song.

The video, which shows de Lima helping expelled minister Isaias Samson Jr. to run, only lasts for about 30 seconds and was played three times to the laughter and cheers of the crowd.

Samson was the minister who filed de­ten­tion, ha­rass­ment, threats and co­er­cion charges against members of INC’s Sanggunian before the Department of Justice.

This move was said to have sparked the protests against De Lima which started Thursday at Padre Faura in Manila.

Iglesia members stayed at Edsa-Shaw intersection despite the heavy downpour. The Philippine National Police estimates that 10,000 church members joined the protest.

The members defied a government permit granted by the Mandaluyong City government limiting the gathering at Edsa-Shaw intersection.

The protest, which is now on its fourth day, is assailing the DOJ for allegedly meddling in the internal affairs of the largest Philippine-based church.

The move by INC members to occupy Edsa paralyzed the traffic from Ortigas to Guadalupe Sunday night.
