Lipa Archbishop Most Reverend Ramon Arguelles has declared the apparitions of Mary Mediatrix of All Grace to a Carmelite Novice in 1948 as “supernatural in character” and “worthy of belief,” overturning the results of an investigation conducted in 1951.
In a decree dated last Sept. 12, Arguelles approved the apparitions of the Mediatrix to a Carmelite postulant named Teresita CastilloinSeptember 1948 and the subsequent miracles attributed to it.
“The events and apparitions in 1948, also known as the Marian Phenomenon in Lipa, and its aftermath ,even in recent times, do exhibit supernatural character and is worthy of belief.”
“I encourage the devotion to the Most Holy Mother Mary under Her Revered and Worthy title of Mediatrix of All Grace,” Arguelles said.
The prelate underscored the role of the Mediatrix in keeping the sanctity of marriage and defense of marriage.
Arguelles also saidthat the Mediatrix is needed “to bring about a true and lasting transformation in the nation.”
After the approval of the local prelate, the apparition will then be subjected to the approval of the Holy See through the Congregation forthe Doctrine of the Faith.
The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines has not yet issued a statement on the approval of the Mediatrixapparitionsas of posting time. JE
