2 cops die in Bataan road accident
PILAR, Bataan–Two policemen died when their patrol car hit a truck and burst into flames along the Roman Highway in Pilar, Bataan, on Wednesday morning, police said.
In a report, the Pilar police said PO3 Rommald Darondon, 37, and PO1 Sandy Gacutan, 28, died instantly when their car swerved and smashed onto a truck in Barangay Ala-uli at 3:15 a.m.
It said Darondon and Gacutan, both of whom assigned to the Bataan provincial police office in Camp Tolentino, Balanga City, came from Limay town and were on their way to Balanga when the accident happened.
Police arrested Demetrio Marasigan, 59, the truck driver. Reporters, however, were barred from talking to him. IDL
