Police say 15 killed after 2 buses collide in southern India

HYDERABAD, India — Police say at least 15 people headed for a wedding have been killed when a mini-bus they were riding collided with another bus in southern India.

Police Superintendent C. Srikant said 10 others were injured in the head-on collision that occurred early Saturday when the wedding guests were traveling to Malakonda town in Andhra Pradesh state.

Both vehicles were speeding when the accident occurred. The minibus was carrying around 45 wedding guests, while the other vehicle had four people in it.

Srikant said both buses fell into a ditch after the collision. All 15 who were killed were occupants of the minibus.
