Arroyo arrives at St. Luke鈥檚 for 2-day medical furlough

Former president and incumbent Pampanga representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo arrived at St. Luke鈥檚 Medical Center in Quezon City on Wednesday morning to undergo a medical check-up after the Sandiganbayan granted her a two-day furlough.

A composite team of Police Security Protection Group, Highway Patrol Group and Quezon City Police escorted Arroyo out of the聽Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC), where she is detained for plunder, around聽8:30 a.m.
Arroyo, accompanied by her husband former First Gentleman Jose Miguel 鈥淢ike鈥 Arroyo, arrived at St. Luke鈥檚 at聽8:50 a.m.

PSPG spokesperson Superintendent Rogelio Simon told聽黑料社聽that a 10-man PSPG team had been deployed to secure the congresswoman.

Simon said the team is led by Senior Superintendent Dante Norvicio.

Arroyo will undergo check-up after complaining of numbness in her left arm. She will stay overnight from聽9 a.m.聽on Oct. 21 to聽4 p.m.聽on聽Oct. 22聽as ordered by the anti-graft court.

Among the tests being recommended for Arroyo to undergo are the Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Scan and tumor marker tests such as Alpha Feto Protein for the liver, Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA) for the breast and pancreas and CA 125 Calcitonin for the medullary thyroid.

The lawmaker鈥檚 lawyers said that the VMMC has no equipment for the tests.聽IDL
