Public school teacher hacked to death in Lanao del Norte town

lanao del norteTUBOD, Lanao del Norte—A public school teacher was hacked to death inside her school located at Barangay (village) Camp 5 here around 7:45 a.m. Friday.

Police authorities said the suspect was identified, through witnesses, as Arnold Fantonial Alfafara, who had fled after killing the teacher.

Amy Bagul, school principal, identified the victim as Roselyn Longcob Talabor.

Except for saying the suspect used a machete in killing Talabor, Bagul could not provide additional details on the incident.

The police said they were still investigating the incident and the circumstances surrounding it. However, Insp. Dennis Tano, the police commander here, said Talabor died of multiple hack wounds. She did not reach the hospital alive, he added.

Tano said they were also running after Alfafara.

Mae Macarambon, coordinator of the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela here, said classes had been suspended after the incident.
