The tandem of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Senate Majority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano might no longer hold a proclamation rally on February 9, 2016 but they would probably start their official campaign with simple activities in Mindanao, the senator said on Friday.
鈥淲e鈥檝e been meeting on the kick-off kasi sabi ni Mayor huwag na tayong mag proclamation kasi unang-una proklamado naman lahat. Pangalawa, iha-hassle mo pa yung mga uspporters mo na pumunta, gastos yun鈥︹ Cayetano said during a press conference in Taguig.
(We鈥檝e been meeting on the kick-off because the Mayor said let鈥檚 not hold a proclamation [rally] because, first of all, everyone鈥檚 already been proclaimed. Secondly, it would only cause hassle for your supporters, they would have to spend money to attend.)
鈥淲e鈥檒l definitely have an activity kasi (because) we have to start officially campaigning but it will be simple and we鈥檒l send a message of real change. Malamang sa Mindanao mag-start (Most probably it will start in Mindanao) but we really haven鈥檛 decided exactly where and how 鈥︹ he said.
Asked if the simple activities could be considered their proclamation rally, Cayetano answered in the negative.
鈥淚 don鈥檛 think it will be a proclamation rally 鈥斺榶ung traditional na (the traditional type where) you ask your supporters, maghahakot ka ng tao sa isang area at paramihan kayo ng tao (gather supporters and let鈥檚 compete on who has the most followers) just to say that we鈥檙e officially running, everyone knows who are running eh,鈥 the senator added.
