In an interview with Boy Abunda during her homecoming special at Areneta Coliseum on Thursday, Wurtzbach聽shared the President鈥檚 reaction on her stand on American military presence in the country.
鈥淗e said when you sparked the comments of the leftists, then you know you did something right,鈥� Wurtzbach said.
Wurtzbach said the President made the remark when she paid a courtesy call聽on Tuesday.
The Filipino beauty queen鈥檚 answer during the Miss Universe top five question and answer portion raised eyebrows among activists and politicians when she said she did not find anything wrong with US military presence in the country.
鈥淚 think that the United States and the Philippines have always had a good relationship with each other. We were colonized by the Americans and we have their culture and our traditions even up to this day and I think that we鈥檙e very welcoming with the Americans. And I don鈥檛 see any problem with that at all,鈥� she said. RC
