Only Duterte can stop criminals, says Cayetano

Vice presidential aspirant Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano believes that Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is the only presidential candidate who can stop crime and corruption in the country.

鈥淜aya bang itigil ang korapsyon ng isang corrupt?鈥 Cayetano said during his proclamation speech in Tondo, Manila, Tuesday night.

The senator was referring to Vice President Jejomar Binay, the standard bearer of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA), who faces a string of corruption allegations, including the allegedly overpriced Makati Building Parking II.

鈥淪a bawat binibigay sa tao, mas malaki ang nilalagay sa bulsa. Paano niya (Binay) ititigil?鈥 Cayetano said.

For Sen. Grace Poe, Cayetano said she聽could not have the will to stop corruption being a neophyte politician.

鈥 he said.

But if Duterte would say 鈥渟top corruption,鈥 even those not corrupt would be alarmed, Cayetano said. 鈥淏aka pagbintangan e,鈥 he added.

As to ending criminality, he said only Duterte could stop crime immediately with his 鈥渟hoot to kill鈥 order against criminals.

While Poe, Binay and Roxas would simply order a stop to crime, Cayetano said Duterte would kill criminals.
